There are two things you should do before Tuesday!

1. In the score that you were given, circle as many themes as you can find that were discussed in class and label them according to the names on the study guide.

2. Listen to the entire first movement (youtube) and follow along using the online score.

Five more in 5/4

Here is the link I mentioned in class. National Public Radio is a great resource for a diverse and eclectic collection of music to hear. Your assignment is to listen to the five pieces of music presented in this link and comment on them right here on this blog. As you listen to the five pieces of music, see if you can find and feel the 5/4 beat.

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=94979223

When you listened, which piece of music was the easiest to hear the 5/4 beat? Which was the most difficult? What in the music made them easy or difficult to distinguish?
